Doctor Gilchrist Concerning Doctor Mutter vid. p. 16 &c.

His marks of recovery are not so great as to supersede the
use of the Remedies which I fear the family are more re¬
miss in than they ought to be. I have often found benefit
from issues in such Cases and I fear the blister on his
neck has been healed too soon; but I should have excused
this if they had allowed another upon his head and which
I still earnestly recommend. He should certainly go
abroad in a Carriage but Electricity would be haz¬
ardous. If his belly be often so bound as to require the frequent use of Anderson's pill
I would try Pulv
e jal. comp.↑ʒfs↑
with two or three drachms of the Crystals¬
of tartar
added to it. The mustard seed very proper &
certainly contributes to the openess of his belly.
I guess it is the absence of suffusion of his eyes
& face that prevents your trying Leeches & I will not
urge them.
