Mrs Thomson
of Alnwick
Tho I generally keep a copy of the ad¬
vices I send to the country I am obliged to you for sending
me a copy of the prescriptions I gave to Mrs Thomson.
I am glad to find that these prescriptions have succeeded
as well as I could expect in a disease that so commonly proves
tedious and obstinate. The only other advice I have to
offer now is that most of her internal medicines should be
laid aside for a month or two to come but that about
the end of January or beginning of February sooner or later
as more or less of mild weather sets in she should again begin
to both the solution and powders and continue them during
the spring months. For what remains of the winter I hope
it will be enough to continue the external applications in the
manner you shall judge most proper. With Compliments
to Mrs Thomson and Daughter I am with great regard
