Mr Harkness.

Dear Sir ---

I am heartily concerned to find the
pain of your Side recurring upon you So often. You have
indeed managed it very properly by blistering but that is
very troublesome and if the pain Should Still offer to recurr
I think you must try what a more constant drain will do.
You must try either a perpetual Issue a pea Issue or a Seton
upon the part or very near to the part into which the pain
comes. However as I expect that a better Season will be of Ser¬
vice to you I think you Should delay any of these measures --
till you find what the Season will do and I hope it may be
time enough to put in an Issue against the winter.

As long as you have any complaints at all and particu¬
larly the Spitting I advise ↑you↑ to continue your regimen and to
take exercise as often as you can. I am with great regard
