Mrs. Mercer
Dear Sir,

Neglecting all matters of ceremony
I speak only of business. Mrs. Mercer case is
very desperate, but we must try to relieve
her as well as we can. I have inquired
after the Estractum hyosciami, and hope I
have found some that may be depended upon
I have ordered Kenneth Mackenzie Chemist
and Druggist to send you an Ounce
by the Perth Carrier whom I hope he will
undertake this afternoon. I have ordered
him also to bring to me a thin plate of it
inclosed in a bladder, so that it may come
inclosed in this letter. You will please
proceed with it, as directed in my former.
[and?] I find no inconsistency in going on with
the Extract rather the powder of [the?]
Cicuta
. Wishing you harty success I am Dear

James Your faithful and most Obedient Servant
