Cullen

The Consultation Letters of Dr William Cullen (1710-1790) at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh

[ID:5819] From: Dr William Cullen (Professor Cullen) / To: Dr Colin Robertsone (Robertson) / Regarding: Mr Peter Thomson (Peter Thomson junior) (Patient) / 15 May 1789 / (Outgoing)

Relpy to Dr Robertson and colleagues, concerning the case of Mr Thomson, who has been to consult Cullen in person. Cullen chides them for leaving so much of the case to Mrs Thomson's narration: 'the History of such a singular and anomalous case, should not have been left to the report of any female whatever'. He concludes that the case is based on a gouty diathesis, and recommends the use of musk.
