Col: Muirhead
Dear Sir,

I am favoured with yours of the 11th
and as a very bad season is but lately over, and
a dry one in the West has not yet long
taken place I am not surprised that you
have not yet made great progress in your
health, but if you get [?] [we have?] now I am persuaded you will
come on, and especially ↑that↑ you will take more
and more pains in your exercise.

I am clear that you should continue
the Infusion, but at the same time I
am of opinion that ↑with advantage↑ you may intermit it
for a fortnight. During that interval
you may take your Keysers Pill, but
I would not push them first, and still
with the conditions I mentioned in my

advice. You enter upon the use of them
sooner in the Season than I would have
advised, but with great precaution against
cold ↑though without confinement↑ I hope they may be very safe. They
sometimes prove laxative, and if they
do so with you, you must let them
alone, as I think that tendency of your
constitution is not to be encouraged.

When you go on a little further
and shall be pleased to give me another
report, you may depend upon the punctual
attention of

Dear Colonel Your most obedient humble Servant
William Cullen
