Miss Furie.


As long as the Goat whey is in good condition, should
continue to drink. & if her stomach &c. a pint
{illeg} morning divide into 3 or 4 draughts the first abed,
& sleep after it, but not long before she get up
{illeg} take 1 rest & walk about between the draughts about
¼ or ½ hour. If this keep her open, well; if
not & she be costive; from one to two drachms of Sol. Tart.
in the first draught, every second or 3d morning. Open
but not to purge. Every fair forenoon,
[get?] on horseback gently for 2 or 3 hours. [Open?]
{illeg} & walking gently, but citra fatigue or heat.
[A]void cold, damp ground, moist evenings & every other
[m]eans of cold. Diet for summer & autum
[m]ilk & vegetables, no animal food, but weak beef or
[c]hicken broth at dinner. Drink plain water
Barley water thin gruel, avoiding fermented liquors.
At the end of a month or when any alteration is

pected, before going to bed, put her feet &
legs in warm water for ½ an hour, drying
them well afterwards, & wrapping them in dry flannel
as she lies down. This for several
nights together & even after some alteration
has come on. A small perpetual blister
in her side & kept open for a 12 month.
Pectoral Pills to obviate the obstruction of
the breast, continue them for 2 or 3 weeks
then laid aside for a fortnight when she must
take another course, for as long as before

Take one scruple each of Balsam of Tolu and white Sugar, one drachm each of powdered root of Elecampagne, Elderberry Rob, and Liquorice Extract, and a sufficient quantity of Mucilaginous Gum Arabic, and make a mass divided into single pills of four grains, to be taken every night at bedtime.
