Jas. Sutherland of Clyne Esqr.

I think it a great deal that your head is so clear & that you
are now free from uneasiness in your urine & from the
spasms in
your limbs. Your only complaint now seems to be
so much Palsy remaining. This is not the season however at
which you are to expect it to mend. For this reason I am un¬
willing to advise any medicines at present but your regimen
must be continued. Avoid salt meat. You may continue to
take wine after dinner & supper but never more than
half a muchkin at a time. If the chocolate keeps your
belly
regular it is well but if not I know nothing better than
the embruised Mustard seed. Avoid lying long abed & never

forget your exercise in a sling
& when the season advances
if you can continue to be carried abroad in any sort of car¬
riage it may be of great service to you. I think a milk
diet will be of service to you. Towards the end of April
or beginning of May take a {illeg} or two of the Electuary
I formerly advised. Every morning before you come out of
bed you should have your right arm & leg gently rubbed
with a flesh brush
continuing it for a quarter of an hour
to each limb. When you write me next let me know
if you are within reach of an Electrical machine
