For Miss B. Glassford.


I can hardly expect any good to her in this season in
this climate; nor can I urge her being much in the aim
unless it be very mild. The giddiness she had in a
Coach will not trouble her so much in a chaise.


The issue must be continued & the Anodyne allowed.
& employ any demulcents her Stomach can bear.


I have prescribed below what has sometimes proved
useful. Avoid animal food & vary her vegetable; which
will be done most agreably with fruit. Milk & farina¬
cea: mixing the milk with water gruel.
