For Mr Stewart


We are clearly of opinion that Mr Stewarts
Complaints depend upon his Constitution having lax solids
and weak nerves This cannot be entirely mended but his
ailments may be obviated by the following managements
1. He should use cold Bathing constantly
2. He should be much in the fresh air and take a great
Deal of exercise in the morning riding is the best and
moderate walking will be usefull. Going in a carriage
is not so proper for him but better than sitting still
when He has occasion to travell let him wear half boots pretty
light.
3 He should be very moderate both in eating and
Drinking especialy in the last and there is nothing he
should be more attentive to than avoiding a large
proportion of liquids
4. He should avoid sitting late at night and
more particularly lying a bed in the morning
5 He should avoid sitting long at business and
all Hurry of spirits.
6. The only medicines which can be useful and at
the same time safe for him are the chalybeates. The
chalybeates waters so usefull to many other People are
However not Proper for him and the Prescription below

we hope is more will be agreeable and usefull

Take ten grains of powdered Steel, five grains of ground Cinnamon and fifteen grains of White Sugar. Mix to make a powder and have made up into twelve doses. Label: steel Powder one to be taken in the morning mixed with a little marmalad or currant jelly and washed down with a small Glass of water.
