For Mr Gallon vid. V. IX. p.156 & 175.


Sorry to find your complaints still continue. Although
I put much trust in the Decoctions & Solutions I will not
insist on them at present but advise a Medicine as below.

Take two ounces of Soluble Tartar, one drachm of Glauber's Salts, Spanish sea Salt and polychrest, half an ounce of each, one drachm of Sal Martis, eight ounces of boiling water and two ounces of simple cinnamon Water. Dissolve and strain. Label: Aperient Solution, two table Spoonfulls to be taken in a quart of Spring water every morning at divided draughts, half an hour between each. The last to be finished an hour before breakfast.

This Dose to give him one
easy motion in the day. and to be increased or decreased
accordingly- With all this live as usual abstaining
from all fish - Salted or high seasoned foods.
At this Season you may use Vegetables freely if
they agree with you.
