Miss Christie Scott.

Ailment obstinate -- but the change to be expected when
Constitution may give a final solution of it, especially if it happens
without any ailment of her breast.

She is to go to Moffat. Begin the Water with two gills at
half an hour interval between them. -- This for two days, & afterwards by
degrees increase the quantity to a Chopin & no more - In good weather walk
to the Spring - In bad walk within doors. &c. The quantity to be increased
to a Chopin according as it agrees with her as it passes by stool or Urine & gives
her Appetite for breakfast.

If cough comes on she must desist entirely from the Water & keep
[more?] within Doors.. but if it has been external cold that occasioned the
cough & upon trial the water does not seem to affect the cough she may
again return to the water when the cough goes off, but if otherwise she
must give them up altogether.

During this Course she may continue her ordinary Diet. - Weak Tea
Bread & butter at breakfast. At Dinner Broth a little light Animal food
with Pudding Pancake or Vegetables. -- At Supper No Animal food - no Eggs -- but
may take milk ---- Drink at all times only Plain water.

During the Course - a great deal of fresh air & gentle Exercise
Riding but; but walking may be used with great caution &c

Avoid cold carefully

Till she goes to Moffat She may continue to take a little Bark
daily; but when there she is to use no medicines except it may be once
or twice a week a little Salts in case the Water does not keep her belly
open

Other measures to propose afterwards --

Gather & dry a large quantity of Tussilago leaves.
