Dr Douglas - Kelso ----

I have long thought as you do that John Hunter had got
water in his thorax & that his liver was in a very bad conĀ¬
dition. We have struggled long to relieve him & have had
more success than I at first thought possible but I am
perswaded that the case is now desperate & that we shall
do him little service. However I think no case is to be
deserted and I am very clear for trying your medicine.
It was I think employed before with advantage but has
not of late & therefore may be tryed again.
