For Gordon of Gight Esq.r


Tendency to Gout affecting his Stomach.
The most promising remedy a properly con¬
ducted journey - 30 or 40 miles a day and
best before dinner, resting a day or half
a day if necessary.


Both Mr & Mrs Gordon should breakfast
on weak Chocolate or Cocoa Tea - Avoid
Indian Tea and Coffee -


At Dinner Mr Gordon may take a bit
of plain meat viz --- avoid Pork or
fat meat - sparingly of Waterfowl & pigeon
sparingly of fish. Fill up his meal with
broth pudding & pancakes & vegetables
but of the last sparingly -- & also
of every kind of fruit --


Ordinary drink plain water or with a little
wine: no malt liquors. - After dinner two or
three glasses of wine of the strong kinds as --
at Supper no Animal food - & if he can digest
Milk it will answer best - after supper
the only strong drink proper Toddy.


Between his Stages or after his days Journey
walking a little will be of use to his limbs &

it may be of use if his limbs are
rubbed every morning with flannel or
the flesh brush -


If on his Journey his Stomach
should be out of order Let him try
a Chamomile Puke, but if his Appe¬
tite & digestion remain I would
rather avoid it -


If costiveness should occur an
Andersons Pill --

Take four ounces of simple cinnamon water, half an ounce of sodium tartrate. Dissolve and strain. Label as Stomachic Solution, 2 or 3 teaspoonfuls in a glass of water twice a day.


x this is to secure his Stomach &
will supply the place of Seltz Water x
