I am not surprised at the continuation of little Mr
Campbell's ailments for I know it must be a slow affair. I dont
doubt but the tumour immediately below the chin may come to break but
there is no good got by hastening that & I would still continue both to
that & the other swellings the lotion ordered before. I am sorry the
child could not be brought to take the aperient solution which it
seems his parents have not firmness enough to effect & if
they still will not attempt I would have them to try to
give him some salt water under the same restrictions as with regard
to the solution I must observe that you seem to have mistaken
a little my meaning with regard to that Solution I never intended
that it should purge or go further in that way than to keep the
Belly Regular & on the contrary it was intended to go into the
blood vessels for the purpose of washing out the lymphatic
glands
. I don't think that repeated purging can be of much service in this disease & may hurt the constitution
