Letter from Andrew Todd, then in Edinburgh, concerning the case of Arthur Irvine (sic, for Irwin) of Willowbrook, Sligo, who has suffered from rheumatic gout and whose face became swollen and drawn to one side when he was 'overseeing Tillage, in very cold piercing weather' in April 1788. His older brother died at 40 from apoplexy, and although his father lived to a great age, he too had had fits (of apoplexy). He has taken the waters at Swadlingbar.
