Letter from Thomas Burnside, a former pupil of Cullen's now practising in Sligo, giving a covering letter and case note for the case of Dr Gibson, who has a disorder of the liver: 'the symptoms fully answered the discription of the Chronic Hepatitis, given in the last Edition of your Nosology'. One reason Burnside is consulting Cullen is to settle his disagreement over the case with another physician, whose 'Ideas of Pathology are formed on the Humoral system'. Handstamps read 'Boyle' and 'Ireland'.
