8 November 1787

Mr Dirom has now followed Dr. Cullens prescription for about
4 weeks; and to give it the full effect, he has been in bed the half
of the 24 hours, and had almost constantly kept the hours the
rest of the time. -- He has used little or no animal food,
has abstained from Wine, malt liquors, and Strong drink of all
kinds, except about half a glass of rum in a tumbler of
water, after dinner, to prevent thirst.

He has taken the powders and liquid prescribed, in the morning
and at going to bed -- and the one week he took two tea
Spoonfuls of Uva Ursi powdered in the midle of the day, and
the other week, abstained from it.

He finds no difference in his complaint. -- His urine is
pretty clear all night when he lies in bed -- about an hour or
two after he gets up it begins to be bloody, & continues bloody
till he goes to bed. --

He will be glad to know if will continue to take the medicines
-- the Regimen has no bad effects either upon his health or his
Spirits.
