Sir

Mrs. Murray at Darnhall who
consulted you this winter about scaly
eruptions
on both sides her neck & ears,
is now much worse than ever, it having
spread down back, breast, to her face
& the inside of both arms --- She has
been regular in taking the powders you
ordered, & has used she says between 4
& 5 dozens. She yesterday sent for
me upon a supposition that it was
some new kind of Eruptions, but upon
inspection it is just the same you
saw before, the single Spots reddish, &
when rubbed ouze a little ichor, presently
after they dry & grow white with scales,

[Page 2]

whenever she grows warm in bed or
sweats, a most intolerable itching arises
& she rubs it so as to run for some hours
like a blister; when she lets it alone
it soon dries with Copious scales all
over
where it run, & the skin even
appears thickened on her forehead
& about the eyes. You may
be sure she is very unhappy about
it, & desired me to write for your farther
advice & discretion, saying, she would
willing take any prescription that
her stomach can bear & not be hazardĀ¬
ous -- Her health is at present perfectly
good, no sort of Complaint but from
her skin; She was deaf for some time
before this eruption spread so much, &
now

[Page 3]

now, without any application, hears as
usual. I shall expect your answer
by Thursday Morning, you know the
impatience of Ladies in such cases
& am
