The Consultation Letters of Dr William Cullen (1710-1790) at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh
[ID:275] From: Dr William Cullen (Professor Cullen) / To: Mr James Monteath (Monteith) / Regarding: Mr Campbell (Patient) / 23 February 1782 / (Outgoing)
Reply to physician 'James' [Monteath] regarding the now-cured venereal disease of a Mr Campbell. Cullen believes that no further use of mercury is necessary and that a spell in the country would be of benefit to Mr Campbell (to keep him 'out of the way of all temptation'). However, Cullen suggests there is no need for the patient to hurry to the country as being far away from his doctor may cause him anxiety were 'the smallest pimple' to appear.
