Letter from John Heysham, reporting the death of Captain Holmes. He writes that he has sent for Dr Withering's treatise, and mentions the effect of a decoction of digitalis on one patient. He also describes the case of Miss Johanna Gale, niece of Mr Senhouse of Nether Hall. Withering's treatise is "An account of the foxglove and some of its medical uses; with practical remarks on the dropsy, and some other diseases" publ. Swinney, Birmingham, 1785.
