Newcastle July 4th. 1784

Dear Sir,

My Friend Mr Collingwood of Cornhill
delivers this, and wishes to have some Conversation
with you in Regard to his Health, which for some
Time past has been gradually declining ---

In the Beginning of last March, while in
Newcastle, he was seiz'd with a Fit and fell
off his Chair, I was immediately sent for and
found that he had soon recover'd, and was
then perfectly sensible, giving distinct Answers
to every Question; as his Pulse was very full
I bled him, and having been particularly
costive for a few days I gave him an open¬
ing Draught; and the next day he was
as well as usual and then told me of his
Complaints, of which (as they continue the
same) I must refer you to himself for a
particular Account ---

He has taken for these last 3 Months a dose

of Mustard seed in Madeira twice a day and
when costive an aloetic Pill, I also requested
him to use Exercise on Horseback or in a
Carriage whenever he was able -- I am

Dear Sir! with great Regard your
