Alloa 27th. October 1783
Dear Sir
Your old Patient Mr. Haig of Alloa, after
having experienc'd for two whole years, the good
Effects of Your and Dr. Hopes prescriptions, finds
himself enjoying as good a State of Health, as can
well be expected at his time of Life, and altho' his
Hoarsness still continues, is able to Attend his
Patients, with more pleasure to himself, than he
had done for years before. This will be de¬
liver'd to you Sir, by his Son, intending to pursue
the Study of Medicine at Edinburgh this Winter, and
for which purpose he is to Attend your Class. If
you Sir will be pleased to show him a little
Countenance, it will add much, to the great Obligations
you have brought me under. I am with the most
profound respect
Dear Sir
your much Oblig'd and
most humble Servant
Jas. Haig
