Sir


Before your answer to my letter con¬
cerning Mr Bell reached me a considerable
remission of the pain in his shoulder had taken
place notwithstanding of which I judged it
proper to have the issue inserted from which the
discharge as yet is but small. The draught
with thirty drops of the Thebaic Tincture was also
ordered and he has continued taking it ever since
and with evident advantage the pain having almost
totally left the shoulder His principal complaints

at present are the Breast and Back attendably some¬
times indeed the whole body seems to be affected but in
a slight degree and it seldom continues long-


The Delirium has been recovered from his manner of
laying as he has had no return of it since his head
has been raised-


I have had some thoughts of Bathing him in Warm
Sea Water but shall not propose it till I hear you
opinion. I have the honour to be with
great esteem and regard
