Dear Sir,


I am sorry to Aquaint you
that our patient Mr orr is still upon
the increase state of the symptoms of
his decline. Since he had your advice
he has followed the rules thereof with
the Utmost Attention – no sooner he
falls asleep than the colliquative
sweating comes on
– so profuse as
to oblidge him to have his dressings
Repeated times shifted thro the
night – if he should not fall into
his profound sleep upon his first
going to bed, the sweat does not
come on – but so soon as comes on
the sweating Attacks him
his Cough
upon the whole is no better, it tr¬
oubles him more thro the night
, then
the day time, possibly to his horizon¬
tall posture, he can lye with equall
ease on each side, no fixd. stitches,
the cough sometimes of the tickling

nature & frequently of the hoop¬
ing Kind
, what is expectorated
appears to be of two different matters

upon trial of what is spit up
thro the course of the night into
a large Bason of cold water, what
swims on the surface of the water
appears to be a Glandular excrescenc[e]
somewhat tinged – what deposites
rather of the pus nature
, tho not
so heavy as to adhere to the bottom
of the Vessell –– his Breathing is
considerably quick
, & much
increased upon the least motion,
his pulse sometimes full from
76 to 80 – tho in the Evening
considerably more rapid
– he
gradually feels a loss of strength
& colourhis Appetite upon
the whole has not much left
him
–– complains more of a

roughness & dryness of the mouth
& fauces than a desire of much
drink, - he is rather lax of the
bowels than otherwise, perhaps
owing to the Tussilago Juice,
as his stools are of a Green
colour
– tho not oftner than thrice
in the 24 hours, he had his
puke
Blister – Acid mixture
Tussilago Juice regularly to your dir¬
ections as you made mention
of knowing how matters {illeg}
with Mr. orr in the course of two
weeks After your prescription
he rests anxious of your further
advice – should you advise a
Jaunt may the Tussilago be left of
