Dear Sir

I had not an opportunity of
seeing Mr Macnab before last saturday
yesterday I was from home, so missed this days
post.

For this some time ↑past↑ he has been
complaining of loss of appetite, pain
in his Stomach, fullness of his Limbs,
a general lassitude, sweats easily, and
sometimes has been near fainting, his
pulse slow soft & feeble, of Course little
thirst. He has had no medecine from me,
for these complaints, as ↑I↑ did not know
of them before. His Ear continues to
discharge largely, & the other ↑day↑ he had
violent acute pain in the other Ear also,
which went soon off. Please say
what you ↑would↑ have me do both for his
stomach & Ear. Our Patient Mr [Hay?]

[Page 2]

sett off this day for {illeg}, from which I am
afraid He will never return alive, his desease
makes garish progress. Legs this morning much
swelled but I shall write you more fully
about him in a post or two, as I am much
hurried at present. I am Dear Sir your

most obedient Servant
