About five months ago I was attacked with a vio¬
lent Headach attended with a considerable degree of
fever - an Acute pain also lodged in my left Eye¬
brow
- After two or three days the violence of the
Headach somewhat abated - tho' it has never been
entirely removed - In two or three weeks after
went to the Country for some days, where was
often disagreeably cold & sometimes hot. My head
frequently confused
- feeling somewhat as if in a
sultry summer's day - Appetite then not good -
soon after returning my Stomach gave a good
deal of pain - it seem'd to sink or as if I had not
the power to retain it in it's place - felt as if
partly excoriated, or acted upon by small prickles -
with Excessive anxiety, considerable difficulty in breathing
& languor --- A very great degree of Cold at the lower
part of the
Stomach, seemingly external - Wind -
eructation not easily obtained -- Sometimes

[Page 2]

the pain of the Stomach hardly tolerable when
on horseback -- A very Offensive Smell in
the Nose generally most so in the morning &
when happening to stoop - Expectorations pretty
copious - of a light yellow & sometimes bluish
colour
- Sometimes a very great weight upon
my Stomach - frequently a pain below the
Stomach - and after walking anything hard there
is a considerable pain in the lower part of
the Belly sometimes on the right sometimes
on the left side - In different parts of
the Back frequently pains, sometimes exten¬
ding to the neck & Hind head - little or no Ap¬
petite
- rather costive & droughty - sometimes
a disagreeable heat, tho not very great, in my
head, shoulders - Breast & Arms - Any serious

[Page 3]

Application to Study tho' never so short renders
the Head giddy & painful - and any mental
distress occasioned by reality or fiction renew
all my Complaints --
