Dear Sir,

Notwithstanding my Nervous System being very
↑much↑ strengthened and a number of dissagreeable complaints tottally
left me ↑since I first received your kind advice,↑ yet there remains some that are very {illeg}troublesome
which I beg to submit to your Friendly consideration -
My Stomach is much in the same flatulent state as
when I last saw you, which causes frequent sickness & giddiness ↑in the forenoon↑
tho' I think for Six Weeks past I have rather been better
which I attribute to leaving off Malt Liquor and drinking
Water with a 20th. part Brady at Dinner & Supper - & I
likewise find immediate relief from chewing a little
bit of Rheubarb - I Still continue a mixt Diet, tho' I
think by taking in Pudding rather more vegetable than
animmal, and drinks port wine after Dinner in such
quantity as I find I require some Days 3 some 4 some
5 or Six Glass but I never on any occation drink to
heat myself - After Supper which is generally an Egg I drink
a small draftught of Brandy & Water mixed as above
I go to Bed at 10 and rise between Six & Seven and thro'¬
out the Day takes as much exercise on Horseback
as I can bear without fatigue this is my regular
Plan by which means I Eat & Sleep as well as any
body - Now my Dear Sir I am to acquaint you that
the pain, weariness & weakness in my Neck & the [lower?]
part of my Back
that I named to you & for which you
ordered a {illeg} Oil, not only continues but

[Page 2]

but has of late become very grievous and seems
quite fixed. I have frequently smart pains in various
[parts?], the extremities, Shoulders and sometims in my Head
but those seldom continue long & I should not have
named ↑them↑ but to point out my general habit - The sense
of Weakness in those parts are so much that always
during some part of the Day I am under the necessity
of Supporting my Head & altho sitting my Back seems
unable to support me - I think it right to tell you
that I bear heat far better than I did, & am not apt
to fall into those profuse sweats I used to do - I will
also tell you that some of my Friends advise me to
be Electrified, & others to go to Buxton but it
is by your opinion & yours only that I shall be di¬
rected, but something I hope you may be able to
think of that may be of service - The Post has called
which puts it out of my Power to write this over I
hope you may make it out - I have ordered Mr.
John Syme to pay you, and with Mrs. Ordes most
respectfull compliments am Dear Sir yours most

Sincerely
Jno. Orde
