Dear Sir


It gives me much Consern I am Obliged
to truble you once more upon the State of my Com¬
plaint which is reather Worse than when
you & Mr. Wood saw me tho' I have used regu¬
larly the Ointment & Sweet Oil by Injection
Mr. Wood Desired me to use Morning & Eve¬
ning for the Heat of Urine is in no Way Abated
& hard Knob no Way Discussed, with the Con¬
tinuation of Stounding Pains from the funda¬
ment
to the Point of the Penis and Kidney's
which makes me Imagine the Ulcer is Incress¬
ing and the Latent Evil no Way removed


The fresh Water Bath Mr. Wood Disch¬
arged, and Since the Sea Bathing was not to
be used, & the last Prescription so Simple in
using, I did not See any necessity for Staying
in Edinburgh, and told him I should write you
or him the Effects of the Ointments if Merecuti¬
all
Mr Wood should have told me ––


With Impatiance I shall wate the Return

of this Express, to Obay the Result of your Orders
whither I am to come to Toun directly to Undergo a Course
of Mercury
As the last resort, Or to try a little longer
the Ointment & Sweet Oil Injection ↑or↑ and what other medecines
from Mr. Wood you Order be Sent by this Express ––


I think I am Worse since the Cold Bath was layed aside
If I am to take it up again with your Electory once
in three Days in Place of the Ointment please let me
know by the Bearer and order it but the Bearer from
Mr. Wood, will Infinitly oblige
