Sir

I give you this trouble to request
Your Advice. About two Months ago I observ'd
a small pimple on my Arm a little
below the Elbow, but paid no attention to it
till I found my Shirt sticking to it, I then then
put a bit of wax cloath to it, it continued to
increase, till it bcame about the size of
a Pea, much Inflamed all round, & in a
day or two broke & discharged some white
matter
& several Smaller pimples of the
same sort, came out around it, till the sore
part bcame fully the size of a Crown---
five or six other places on the same Arm
& one upon one of my fingers broke out in
the same way, but not near so large
but all burning hot & Imflamed & extremly
Itchie
, I Consulted no Physical person
but took four or five Dozes of Salts and
Manna & [livid low?], & thez are now all
gone off & I have not one heat upon
any part of my Skin, At the time of this
Eruption upon my Arm, both my Ears---
bcame [Scurffiy?], & Sore & a little thin watery
suff at times came from them, but this

have indeed often had before, and some years
ago they were affected in this & az at Edinburgh
when I spoke to Mr Wood the Surgeon
about it & he advised me if I could conve¬
niently go to Harrowgate & drink that
water, he thought it would be of Service
to me, I went the next Season & found
benefit from it, but the affair on my
Ears has in general been so triffling that
never mind it much, yet their growing
worse sutily, when my Arm was so much
affected, alarmed me a good deal & tho
my skin is now & has been for a Month
past perfectly whole, they still continue
a little Inflamed & Itchie, so should
be obliged to you for the favour of your
Advice / of which I have the highest opinion
in case a Similar Complaint should return
& if any Medcine or Regimine should
be necessary please send me your pre¬
scription ---- I have never had any
Eruption before upon any part, since ever
I can remember, except perhapps now

& than a pimple on my Face & that exceeding
seldom, I am naturally strong & robust
I use a great deal of Exercise without doors
both in Riding and Walking chiefly the
latter, I have never been a hard Liver
I very seldom exceed a pint of wine & never
Drink to excess, of late I only drink five
or six Glasses, I am no great eater, tho I
generally make a good Dinner of plain
Meat, but never eat Suppers, except w
Sowens or Potatoes & never taste Wine
at Night, for a very few Glasses of either
wine or Punch at Night, disagrees with
my Stomach & gives me a headach----
