Sir

I received your favours of the 18th Inst. which
I think had a very good effect upon Mr Reddie's Spirits, but
it seems now to lose the effect, being a little more Impatient
this day – I do not think it necessary to give a Jou↑r↑nal of
his Case from the 16th to this day, as he has been much in One
way. His sleep is generally disturbed much in the night, with
startings & Uneasiness about his Stomach, & even sometimes
becomes faintish; almost every forenoon he has one or two
of the faintish fits & frequently one in the Evening, but do not
go to the height they did before; however he is frequently
supported with Wine & the Cordial Drops or I believe they
would both become more frequent & more severe.

He is very easily startled & has then a great uneasiness about
his breast – He has a Headach at times but it is not very
remarkable – His stomach is frequently disordered with
Heartburn & is seldom free of Wind upon it - Pulse Natural
Belly regular - the Issues both on head & back discharge freely
Has now very little Complaint of the numbness or prickling
in his Legs & Arms; but complains of Weakness of his
Joints when walking through the Room

[Page 2]

This day the faintish fits have been very frequent in spite
of Wine & Drops & have been more severe than they have
been ↑at any time↑ since the 16th. Complains of an uneasiness of his fore-¬
Head
& also the Crown, with the Uneasiness about the Præcordia
which is greater than it has been for some time past, with
which he thinks he will often faint away entirely - Finds
that his headach is increased upon walking thro' the Room
or speaking in his usual Tone – His Issues discharge well
Belly regular. Complains much of weakness to day ~
Pulse Natural even when faint – The Wind on his stomach
very troublesome & has had no appetite for food to day

The Medicines are still continued & agree very well with
his stomach but do not seem to strengthen him or mend
his Appetite ~

I need not appologize for giving
you so much Trouble as nothing but the great Impatience
of the Patient could make me so troublesome ~
I remain with esteem

Your most Obedient Humble Servant
