Wooler June 18th1775
Dear Sir


The bearer of this is my particular friend the
Reverend Mr Allen Vicar of this place -- He will inform
you himself of his Complaints better than I can
describe them. The Methods that has been used did
often give him relief but only ↑proved↑ temporary He has
taken solution salt of Tartar in Rhenish wine
the pilul scillitic. A medicated Ale for his common
drink of Bardana Bacc. Juniper sem daucus sylvestris
Soluble Tartar &c., and recommended to Exercise &c. -------------
I am much Obliged to you for all your Civilitys to
my Son while at Edinburgh My Wife who is now greatly
better joins with one in Our most respectfull Compliments
and best Wishes and I am Dear Sir
