Reply, 'Mr Dunlop C[oncerning] Mr Ferguson', signed by William Cullen and William Chalmers. They advise that Robert Fergusson is suffering from neither a venereal disease nor [bladder] stone, but an enlarged prostate. Mercury and cicuta are prescribed, with dietary advice. 29 March 1777

He asks how to proceed further to complete his cure, and asks Cullen to write to him c/o John Glassford. 26 April 1777

Reply, 'Mr Robert Ferguson'. Brief note in response to Letter ID 1398. Cullen says that Fergusson has 'pushed the Mercury far enough', but advises that the Cicuta may not be in a good state, and that he will ask Chalmers to find some better. 29 April 1777
