Letter from Anne Stewart, Abbey Green (Lesmahagow), relating her own case of 'a soar Breast I have got' since breastfeeding her baby two years before. Letter addressed to Mrs [Sarah] Blacklock, requesting that she read it to Cullen. The sender is a friend of Mrs Blacklock's sister, Miss Johnston and she also sends compliments to Sarah's husband, Dr Thomas Blacklock, the blind poet and scholar who, with his wife, ran a boarding house in Edinburgh mainly patronised by medical students. There is a note in another hand (almost certainly that of Mrs Blacklock's) commenting on Anne Stewart's case. 17 January 1775
