[DOC ID:3658]
An orphaned, undated case-note describing Lieutenant Yule's case, annotated as being composed by Yule himself and by a Henry Marshall designated 'Surgeon to the Forces'. In unknown hand (copy?). Mentions Yule being in Columbo and Kandy, which strongly implies the patient is Major William Yule (1764-1839), of Dirleton, East Lothian who worked for the East India Company, which would date the document to after 1782 when he was a Lieutenant in the Bengal Army. After retiring from service in 1806 he eventually donated his collection of Oriental manuscripts to the British Museum (See DNB entry for his son, the geographer, Sir Henry Yule;). There is a DNB entry for a military surgeon Henry Marshall ( 1775-1851), but his dates are too late but this is possibly his father. 1783?
