Letter from McNaughtan Hunter concerning the case of Mrs Ford, a 45-year-old mother of six, who has been displaying cough and breathing difficulties, and loss of weight and strength. She has been in low spirits since the death of a favourite daughter about a year ago. Hunter has bled her, but she is declining daily.11 March 1789

Letter to MacNaughton Hunter concerning the case of Mrs Ford. Cullen is not optimistic: 'If her Daughter in her disease had any thing Phthisical I shall be afraid of the Mother going the same way'. He recommends the use of Ipecacuanha and blistering her back or breast, but wishes Hunter had sent him more detail about the bleeding. 14 March 1789
