Cullen and one of his sons have recently stayed with the Gilchrist and his wife. Mentions the trees at Dalswinton and his wife's recipe for punch. Contains the immortal line: "But it is just the same thing; for I suppose I am now to hold that the merit of the Wife is transferable, or entirely belongs, to the husband". 3 September 1786
