Unsigned case note (originally enclosed with Doc: 1718), by Timothy Kirby, describing the case of Mr. K., a married man aged 30, who is said to have inherited his parents' 'gouty diathesis'. He has a wide range of ailments, including respiratory and bilious symptoms, listlessness and seminal effusions. He has tried a range of medicines and plaisters, and taken the waters at Bath. He has consulted other physicians in England: Delacour, Warren and Jebb.7 August 1779

Reply, 'Dr Kirkby C[oncerning] Mr K'. Cullen suspects 'a gouty disposition'. He advises fewer medicines, and gives advice on diet, exercise and cold bathing. It seems from his account that the shower-machine was little known in Ireland.31 August 1779
